To celebrate the launch of THE EXPERT OF SUBTLE REVISIONS, I made a trip up to Boston, where I visited my friend, author Daphne Kalotay, who led me on a whirlwind tour of the area’s gorgeous indie bookshops. I was blown away! So many wonderful shops, many with cafes and beautifully curated gift shops.
I’m gathering the tour into a single post so that I know where to go the next time I’m in town, and so that anyone interested can follow my footsteps. It was a great way to explore the city!
Harvard Book Store
1256 Mass Ave. Cambridge, MA 02138
Harvard Square COOP
1400 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02138
I got here right at closing (six o’clock on Sunday), so I didn’t get any photographs, but it is just around the corner from Harvard Book Store and well worth a stop.
Lovestruck Books
44 Brattle St, Cambridge, MA 02138
Porter Square Books
1815 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140 (There’s also a Boston location at 50 Liberty Dr)
Groiler’s
6 Plympton Street, Cambridge, MA 02138
Groiler’s was closed when I was in town (Sunday-Tuesday), so I wasn’t able to stop by this famous poetry bookstore in person, but I include it in the list for next time I’m in town.
Newtonville Books
10 Langley Rd, Newton, MA 02459-1972
Brookline Booksmith
279 Harvard Street, Coolidge Corner Brookline, MA 02446-2908
Trident Booksellers and Cafe
338 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02115
Beacon Hill Books & Cafe
71 Charles Street, Boston, MA 02114
Belmont Books
79 Leonard St, Belmont, MA 02478, United States
I’m looking forward to returning to Boston to do it all again! In the meantime, you can find signed copies of THE EXPERT OF SUBTLE REVISIONS at many of the stores above. Every day can be Independent Bookstore Day!
