Hase, which is a German word for rabbit, is a young woman with a mysterious past. She has no birth certificate, no social security number, no bank statements or credit cards, no driver\u2019s license or passport. Her father is not her biological father, and there is no adoption record. She chooses the name Hase because it\u2019s the name her father calls her, and he is on her mind because he is missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In no way is Hase resentful of her odd childhood; instead, she draws strength from being an outsider. Whether she\u2019s editing Wikipedia or looking for her father, she works with confidence and determination\u2014even as she begins to unravel old secrets and uncovers surprising truths about herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hase is the last of the three point-of-view characters I wrote for THE EXPERT OF SUBTLE REVISIONS, but she became the most central. The story opens with her voice.<\/em>
