Greetings from Providence, RI where I had a chance to talk about THE EXPERT OF SUBTLE REVISIONS with writer and visual artist Tanya Young last night at Symposium Books. It was a great conversation and a full house! And a nice way to ring in Independent Bookstore Day, which is today.
I came to Providence via New York City, where I had a chance to stop by the beautiful Neue Gallerie to sign copies of Expert at the museum bookshop, and then I had a wonderful time exploring the galleries (Schiele! Klimt! Kokoska!) and trying the asparagus soup and delicious Austrian pastries at the museum cafe. I’m already looking forward to returning!

I also swung by Lofty Pigeon in Brooklyn to sign copies (I wanted to spend more time there, but I arrived right at closing. I’ll have to go back!) as well as the Indigo Books in the mall I used to visit when I was a child in New Jersey. It was really fun to see my book there! I also signed copies at my old NYC haunt (I went all the time when I lived in the East Village many years ago), The Strand.
I’ll be heading to Boston next and will report from there. In the meantime, I hope you are celebrating your local independent bookstore. If you haven’t yet purchased THE EXPERT OF SUBTLE REVISIONS and want to, today is a great day to do that at an indie shop!
