The Expert of Subtle Revisions: News from Around the Web

The Expert of Subtle Revisions by Kirsten Menger-Anderson

Hello! I’ve been thrilled to see THE EXPERT OF SUBTLE REVISIONS popping up online–from social media posts, to recommended reading lists, to science stories! Here’s a quick wrap-up:

MSN’s science story New theory challenges time travel paradox fear mentions the novel in a piece about Vanderbilt University physicist Lorenzo Gavassino’s work, which outlines a theoretical framework “suggesting time travel could occur without creating paradoxes:”

“Even if a traveler tried to change history in a paradoxical way, the system would adjust outcomes to ensure a consistent timeline, a theme also explored in Kirsten Menger-Anderson’s novel ‘The Expert of Subtle Revisions,’ which ties time travel to questions of historical narrative and causality.”

The Davenport library included Expert on a great list of reality-bending novels, and Nerds of a Feather included it in their 2026 Nerds of a Feather Awards Recommended Reading, Part 1: Fiction Categories! Lots of great books on both lists. Check them out! Thanks also to WellRedPhD for including the novel in her love stories that aren’t romances list.

In February, I also had a chance to attend the San Francisco Writers Conference Sips and Stories event, where I signed books along with a group of amazing writers. It was fun to connect with readers and writers there and I hope to return next year.

Finally, many thanks to the readers who’ve shared photos and videos of the novel these last few weeks. I love seeing the book out in the world! From Neuegallerie’s fantastic Schiele themed video (check out their new Schiele show, from now to May 4), to Austrian-themed dinner/book parties, to photos and videos that showcase the cover. Here are a few highlights:
