The holidays have arrived and with them the end of 2025 and the year that The Expert of Subtle Revisions arrived. I made a year-in-review video that features some of the year’s highlights–from appearing among NPR’s 2025 Books We Love, to launch events, reviews, panels and other photos.
This month, I was thrilled to see the novel on the Goodreads Editors’ blog, where Goodreads editor Sharon selected the novel as one of four top promising debuts for the year!
Elese at Flyleafbooks included The Expert of Subtle Revisions among her favorites in her end of year wrap-up as well:
“A clever debut that’s flown under the radar this year, ranging between 1930s Vienna and 2016 San Francisco Bay Area. It’s a mystery! It’s mathematical! It’s got time travel! A good yarn that made me feel smart while I was reading it.”
And thanks to bookseller Mariah at Dog Eared Books in Ames, Iowa, who mentioned The Expert of Subtle Revisions among her favorites for the year as well.
Last but not least, many thanks to the staff of Penguin Random House Audio who selected The Expert of Subtle Revisions audio book as a staff favorite this year!
