Photos from Kepler’s: Douglas Smith with Kirsten Menger-Anderson

I had a wonderful time talking to historian Douglas Smith about his new book, The City Without Jews, last night at Kepler’s Books. We talked about life in Nazi Vienna for an hour (between my questions and ones from the audience) and everyone in the room was rapt. Thanks to Heather and Kepler’s Books for inviting me to be a part of the conversation about the dark and very moving history Smith captures.

In other news, it’s LitQuake time here in San Francisco. I got to see Hernan Diaz in conversation with Ed Yong about Ply and am looking forward to the LitCrawl this coming Saturday. If you’re in the Bay Area, be sure to check out the LitQuake schedule.

That’s it for the moment. Hope you’re enjoying the fall!
